<image:caption>Two Stories on the South Coast In early summer, I met Carson McColl. He is a poet, artist and musician from Glasgow, Scotland and grew up by the sea. We found that we like a combination images and poetry and decided to go to the South Coast of England to do this project together. When we arrive it is a hot day. With the grass up to our knees we walk and smell the sea and the summer. The water is bright and shining into our eyes at the beach. All around us is heat and silence. “The room in blue ruin/the blade lay him open/slowly rocking on the bone Worried of aspect/the blossoms were leaning/set in sunlight/with fatal stones” There is no wind, and no wave in the sea. Stones with yellow green mosses do not give us anything. We climb the hill. Up there is wind and pieces of white limestone everywhere, contrasting his black garments. He walks barefoot toward the edge of the cliff. “Silently I stood for absolution There amongst the rapture of the drowned I felt there something like a shadow In states half wakeful; worlds without sound” words by Carson McColl   A month later, I am back. The scenery has changed, the cliffs are covered in fog. An old couple walks in front of me. They hold hands and look like they are planning a picnic in the fog. I take a picture of them. They don't climb the hill so we part ways. Slowly the sky clears. Blue appears gradually and the sun is back just before it sets for the day.</image:caption>

<image:caption>" You put an image on the wall in your room You want to keep it You want to show it to you Maybe you will put a different one few months later “   Everybody has some images like post cards, photographs, posters on their wall. When I see these images, I feel I can touch a part of them. These images show a piece of their mind. They hung them up because they feel something about them and want to show it to themselves. The image could be changed a few months later or still be there in a year. Even if he or she forgets about it, it is a piece of their identity, their story. I selected one image that pleased me without asking them for their preference. When I choose one of their images as the focus of my image, it becomes part of my identity, my story.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blaue Blume</image:title>
<image:caption>Blaue Blume 'She was fifteen. She didn't like this picture, her mom loved it and put it on the wall in their home for a long time.' I am interested in observing emotions we have in our lives, how they might transform us. For my project, 'Blaue Blume', I have taken pictures of 15 year old girls in London. I met them on the street and asked them to show me their serious selves. While I was taking picture, I didn't talk to them. The silence between us produced tension and the girl's faces changed in a few minutes. I wanted to capture both the nervousness and the loneliness of the girl through her facial and body expression while in front of my lens. I wished to create an uncomfortable situation with them. 15 is very much a transitional age, a time when girls are very aware they are becoming women. Their bodies and minds are changing and they are often confused about their identity, about who they might become. Their surroundings start to treat them as little women. They are frustrated but there appears to be no reason for it, they lack self control and are based on conflicts between physical and psychological impulses. They are prey to their own energy, emotions and to a powerful self-consciousness. Often they veer between self-hatred and self-confidence, again, seemingly without reason. They have no fear and yet are afraid of everything. They start to see new world not only their mothers. I wanted to create an image of a 15 year old girl who is in this period of change and has the possibility to transform to any direction. This is very attractive for me because I remember that phase of my life very clearly. By taking picture of those girls, I can see their ongoing transformation and also my own emotions in the image.</image:caption>

It included her first performance piece in which she attempted to convey her thoughts by taking the visual input of a photograph and an emotional inspiration in the form of a plaster cast of her right hand. After looking at a photograph and the model of her hand on a table, she wrote a short, freely associated text on a piece of paper, then placed both on a ledge where the image/text pairs formed an intimate story.
